  • LEED Gold

This major institutional project is being carried out in a consortium with NEUF architect(e)s and Atelier TAG for the architectural component, as well as with Projet Paysage for the landscape architecture.

Harmony Between Nature and Culture

The outdoor design concept focuses on a harmonious fusion between the natural environment and living spaces through a distinctive sectorization:

  • The Natural Agora: A vast, flexible animation space featuring temporary stages, water jets, and stone bleachers.
  • The Reading Garden: An intimate, shaded, and inviting space equipped with signature furniture (bistro tables and colorful chairs).
  • The Artistic Path: Outdoor green lounges specially designed to showcase public artworks.

A Major Ecological Commitment (Targeting LEED Gold)

Built according to best practices in sustainable construction, the project aims for LEED Gold certification through concrete ecological initiatives:

  • Urban Biodiversity: Development of an accessible green roof on the library, combined with an exclusive selection of native plant species.
  • Eco-responsible Water Management: Integration of circulation corridors bordered by rain gardens, the use of permeable paving, a dry riverbed, and retention basins.

This new modern infrastructure will sustainably enhance the neighborhood's cultural vitality while providing a prime gathering place for the population of Laval and its artistic community.
