Excavation-Drainage-Construction Foreperson

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Supervise, coordinate and organize the work of the employees and subcontractors under your authority
  • Complete and sign the daily reports on the work effected on site
  • Approve your work team’s time sheets on a daily basis
  • Ensure the monitoring of the schedule in order to respect and maximize the budget and ensure profitability
  • Read through the plans to understand their execution
  • Establish a connection between the work site and the managing team
  • Verify, inspect and ensure work site security on a continual basis and in a rigorous manner using GMDC – Division construction guidelines
  • Verify, inspect and ensure the proper state of security material (SST)
  • Participate in various meetings as scheduled (kick-off meeting, work site meetings, departmental meetings, etc.)
  • Supervise the monitoring of onsite work with the laboratory (soil engineer)
  • Establish the order of priority for important and urgent tasks with the aim of improving efficiency
  • Identify sources of possible problems quickly and recommend solutions to the managing team
  • Verify workshop plans and drawings to confirm they are the latest updates, and make any resulting necessary arrangements with the work site as a result
  • Handle the orders for, requests for and verification of materials and/or equipment delivered to the work site as well as their accuracy
  • Ensure the proper state of tools and drainage equipment
  • Request and verify the delivery and/or unloading of drainage material
  • Ensure the tracking of the inventory of material and/or leased equipment
  • Ensure the maintenance of the work site’s tidiness and organize material and equipment
  • Perform or coordinate the maintenance and cleaning of machinery

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • DEP, ASP in a relevant area
  • 5 years of experience as a foreperson in excavation for industrial or commercial projects
  • Excellent ability to read plans and understand their execution
  • Hold a Compagnon CCQ certificate
  • Ability to work under pressure while ensuring successful teamwork
