    20th Anniversary

    Montoni celebrates its 20th anniversary. By now it has become one of the leading builders and real estate developers in eastern Canada, with close to 100 employees. Its portfolio includes more than 400 projects, including 3.5 million sq.ft. of LEED®-certified buildings, 30 corporate centres and 15 million sq.ft. under development.

    Le Groupe Jean Coutu (PJC) Inc.

    Montoni builds a new head office and distribution centre for the Jean Coutu Group in Varennes, which covers nearly 900,000 sq.ft.

    Espace Montmorency

    The new Espace Montmorency complex in Laval is launched. Espace Montmorency, which will be completed in four phases, will feature 10 cubic towers up to 20 stories high. Offering more than 1 million sq.ft. in leasable space, the project will combine connected technology with green space thanks to the creation of public and private terraces that span several stories.

    Montoni acquires land in Ville Saint-Laurent to build a new corporate campus that will house Ericsson’s Canadian head office. With more than 1,700 employees, this facility will be among Ericsson’s largest outside Sweden and will include pedestrian and bicycle paths, a daycare centre and a huge cafeteria. Projected completion date is 2016. In addition to Ericsson, which will occupy about one-third of the site, other tenants will move into Montoni’s development at this desirable location, just minutes from downtown Montreal and Trudeau International Airport. The development is destined to become a genuine technology hub and is expected to be LEED® Gold-certified.

    Urban Renewal

    A rededication to urban renewal and conversion projects, including 7250 Marconi in the Mile-End district and 950 Beaumont in Montreal.

    Exel DHL

    Major projects include the Exel DHL project in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, a huge facility for this multinational that specialises in the warehousing of merchandise and equipment.

    Leadership Award from the CaGBC

    Montoni receives the Leadership Award from the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) in recognition of its commitment to LEED® green building techniques and sustainable development.

    Faubourg Boisbriand

    Montoni acquires 2.5 million sq.ft of land in the Faubourg Boisbriand borough and contributes to the renewal of the area, which had suffered when the General Motors plant closed a few years prior. The resulting development, which includes the Elopak facility, directly contributes to revitalizing the local economy.

    Logistik Unicorp

    Montoni receives its first LEED® Gold certification with the Logistik Unicorp building, built in 2006.
  • 2008

    Centre corporatif Saint-Laurent

    Highlighting the company’s dedication to sustainable construction, Montoni builds Canada’s first industrial park in which seven buildings obtain LEED® Silver certification: the 720,728 sq.ft Centre corporatif Saint-Laurent.
  • 2007

    Canada’s Best Managed Companies Platinum Status

    After seven years on the list of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, Montoni is awarded platinum status.
  • 2004

    RONA and Nelmar

    Montoni is awarded its first major project on Montreal’s North Shore, an industrial complex in Terrebonne which includes buildings for RONA and Nelmar on 4 million sq.ft. of land.

    Structube, Centura and Standard Products

    Montoni starts work on its first industrial development in Montreal: a 1 million sq.ft development at the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway West and Côte-de-Liesse that houses Structube, Centura and Standard Products.

    One of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies

    Montoni is recognised as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies, an honour it will go on to win every year after that.
  • 1998

    Centre Corporatif Phase I

    Montoni launches its first industrial development in Laval. Phase one of the Centre Corporatif, which consists of 14 new buildings on 2.5 million sq.ft. of land, is completed in less than three years. With this success under its belt, Montoni then constructs nine more phases of the project.

    Cyclo-Vac, Polykar & King Canada

    Montoni completes three major projects—Cyclo-Vac, Polykar and King Canada—which become flagships for the brands.
  • 1995

    Groupe Montoni (1995) Construction Inc.

    Dario Montoni, a 25-year-old engineer, recognises a need in the construction industry: by involving clients in the earliest stages of a project’s design, he could build structures that exceed a client’s expectations without sacrificing time or budget. So he founds Groupe Montoni Division Construction Inc. to do just this. The firm’s client-focused approach immediately distinguishes it in the marketplace.
